My name is De Lena Johnson, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) serving as the School Social Worker at Liberty Oaks Elementary School. I have been with the district since 2018. My primary role is to support students and families by fostering strong connections and providing assistance where needed.
School Social Workers:
- Actively address barriers within the child, home, school and community that interfere with student achievement.
- Serve as catalysts to bring people together and to create an environment that is conducive to effective problem solving and learning.
- Practice includes advocacy, assessment, case management, crisis intervention, home visits, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, consultation, program development and coordination of school and community resource services.
